The movement and flow of life...

 navigating mind

reclaiming your voice

putting change in motion

“Consciousness is only possible through change; change is only possible through movement.”

Aldous Huxley, The Art of Seeing

APPROACH

My strengths-based approach is grounded in a person-centered, unconditional positive regard for the client, with the belief that we each have the ability to find our own answers, shift thinking, change negative patterns and empower ourselves as experts in our own life. Adding a creative element to therapy sessions adds alternatives, imagination, and opportunities for clients to experience ourselves in new ways.

Expressive arts therapies access the right side of the brain, having this integrate with the left creates a more holistic approach to healing. Using expressive arts also carries a stronger probability of meeting each individual client where they are at, rather than trying to conform to one way of approaching issues.

Working through a creative lens combined with standard psychotherapy offers clients the opportunity to reach parts of themselves that may be hidden or dormant. It is a common statement to say "a part of me...", using expressive arts offers that part a chance to be seen, heard, and healed. We also explore roles we seem to repeatedly take on, roles we no longer need, and ways to open oneself up to a role that needs to be strengthened or recognized. Along with role play, utilizing drama therapy can often improve interpersonal relationship skills through active participation with exercises like mirroring, improvisation, script writing and enacting,

Metaphors are also a strong method to make connections with patterns taking place or situations that defy explanation. Add all of this with humor when appropriate and we create a well-rounded and expansive space to tap into the wholeness of who you are and the life you'd like to embrace.
